(EN) "Untitled IV" is an imagetic series which begins with the appropriation of found photographs from real estate websites in Lisbon, and, through a pictorial intervention, instigates reflections on the socio-cultural alterations that resulted from the drastic changes in the local real estate market. The images, once trivial and ephemeral, become unique paintings. The use of expressive strokes, as well as the juxtaposition of different layers of color, bring the evidence of the photograph to a mere suggestion, and allow only a few scarce objects of the original record to be identified. These images, then, become the last tokens of the families that once lived in each place: empty portraits made out of household elements and traces of the lives of their former inhabitants.
(PT) "Sem título IV" é uma série imagética que parte da apropriação de fotografias encontradas em anúncios de venda e aluguel de habitações em Lisboa para, através da intervenção pictórica, promover reflexões sobre alterações culturais e sociais resultantes das drásticas modificações no atual mercado imobiliário local. As imagens, antes banais e efêmeras, tornam-se únicas por meio da pintura. O uso de traços expressivos do pincel, assim como a sobreposição de diferentes camadas de cor, reduzem o índice fotográfico à mera sugestão e permitem que apenas alguns poucos objetos do registro original sejam identificados. Estas imagens tornam-se, então, os últimos retratos das famílias que ali habitaram: espaços vazios, construídos por meio do recheio das casas e dos vestígios da vida de seus antigos moradores.
